Kosambari

Kosambari is taken as one of the side dish like a salad. Having this along with the main course makes you enjoy our meal. This requires very less time to prepare. When ever you need to make a variety of dishes for some functions, this is the right choice.
 
Ingredients:
1. Cucumber- 1 medium
2. Split green gram dal/Hesaru bele - 1 cup
3. Coriander leaves - 1 bunch( as required
4. Curry leaves - ( as required)
5. Lemon juice - 1no
6. Green chilli - 3 or 4 nos
7. Hing/Asafoetida - pinch
8. Mustard seeds - 1 spoon
9. Grated cocunut - 3 spoons
8. Salt
9. Oil
10. Turmeric powder- pinch

Method:
1. Soak dal in water for half an hour. Drain the water from this and keep aside.

2. Grate cucumber and keep it aside

3. Take a small bowl and add thadka. i.e Add oil to a vessel. Once the oil is heated add mustard seeds, curry leaves, Hing,  green chillies, turmeric powder & salt.


4. To this add the grated cucumber, soaked dal.


5. Add lemon juice, grated cocunut and coriander leaves to garnish.
Note: Grated carrot can also be added.
Tasty kosambari is ready.
